In the picture on the peak, it can be seen up to the eastern coast. The railway where I am standing was used by the locals in the early 1900 for transporting logs,it was really steep. The area was full of Kauri trees but around 1920 they managed to take almost all of them, because they were huge and had a loot of usable wood.
Take a close look at the color from the water that Daniela is showing, this is what we had to boil to be able to drink, coming like this straight from the tap in the hut.
The pinnacle hut was really luxurious for being a mountain hut, it fits 80 people but we stayed only 4 (2 other Germans were there).
